Where the Bible speaks,
we speak;
where the Bible is silent,
we are silent!
That’s what we dedicate ourselves to do and encourage you to do as well!
Considering the attitudes of this world and the things that people do,
it is clear that people have lost sight of the fact that...
Life is precious!
Christ expresses that a single soul is more valuable than the whole world in Matthew 16:26.
Matthew 16:24-28 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works. 28 Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”
That means that...
YOU are valuable!
You have worth! It is easy for us to fall into the despairs and depressions of life, but God loves you! God loves you so much that He sent His Son to be a sacrifice on your behalf. You know the verse...
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
We all need to see that God has done great things for our benefit. The least that we can do is to be faithful and obedient to Him.
Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
But that is also the most that we can do for ourselves.
...to be "transformed" into what God wants us to be.
..and to allow our "mind" to be "renewed" according to His Word.
And if we truly love ourselves, we will change because there is great benefit in it.
In fact...
Everyone is valuable!
Paul became "all things to all men that" he might help save them through the Word of God and his influence.
I Corinthians 9:19-23 For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; 20 and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; 21 to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; 22 to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23 Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.
We should not judge life based on wealth.
James 2:1-9 My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality. 2 For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes, 3 and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit here in a good place,” and say to the poor man, “You stand there,” or, “Sit here at my footstool,” 4 have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?5 Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? 6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts? 7 Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called?8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well; 9 but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
We should not judge the value of a life based on race.
At the Gentile house of Cornelius,.. Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. 35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.
Christ was a Jew.
Simon the Cyrene (probably a black man) help Jesus physically to bear the Cross (Matthew 27:32, Luke 23:26).
In Acts 2:9-11, fifteen nationalities were there to hear the words of the apostle on the first day that the church existed. Salvation was offered to all of them.
There are a lot of other passages in the Bible that express God's love of the poor, the sick, the suffering, the morning, and just all souls!
I Timothy 2:1-1-4 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Galatians 3:26-28 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
So when it comes to salvation, God wants all to find salvation.
Every soul is valuable!
Luke 15:4-7 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ 7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
When it comes to how we treat people, God wants us to view people as valuable.
Luke 10:25-28 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?”
27 So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ”
28 And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”
I Timothy 2:1-4 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth
Our childrens are valuable!
When it comes to how we treat our children, God wants us to see that they are so precious.
Christ used them as an example of humility and of the fact that they look to their parents for instruction. We to should look to our heavenly Father for instruction and protection.
Matthew 18:18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me. 6 “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7 Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!
In the Old Testament, God forbade worship of false gods and sacrifice to them.. It is unbelievable and abominable but sometimes the sacrifice was the burnt offering of their own children - human sacrifice. It is referred to as "causing them to pass threw the fire" What an unspeakable concept. Can you imagine sacrificing your own precious children? Of course not. It was forbidden in Leviticus 18:21 and Deuteronomy 18:10.
It was recorded as having taken place in II Kings 17:17, II Kings 21:6. II Kings 23:10, II Chronicles 33:6, Jeremiah 32:35, Ezekiel 16:21, Ezekiel 20:26, Ezekiel 20:31, and Ezekiel 23:37.
Now, once again, we certainly are not saying that anybody is offering the gift of their firstborn son or their daughter on a fiery alter to the false pagan god Molech, But are we sacrificing our children to those things that we idolize? If we hold things and concepts above God and raise children, it is very unlikely that they will escape becoming just like us.
So we need to consider our stewardship as parents.
We need to love them so much that we consider and correct or relationship with God so that we are the examples to them that we should be. We need to have the correct relationship with God and be able to instruct them in doing the same
Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.
Let us not unwittingly sacrifice our children to this world!
Unborn children are valuable.
And when it comes to the value of life, God wants us to see realize the unborn are people.
Psalm 139:12-15 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.13 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well, 15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.
Proverbs 31:8-9 Open your mouth for the speechless, In the cause of all who are appointed to die.9 Open your mouth, judge righteously, And plead the cause of the poor and needy.
Exodus 21:22-24 “If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman’s husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. 23 But if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
Exodus 20:13 “You shall not murder.
Genesis 25:21-24 Now Isaac pleaded with the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; and the Lord granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22 But the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If all is well, why am I like this?” So she went to inquire of the Lord.23 And the Lord said to her: “Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger.”24 So when her days were fulfilled for her to give birth, indeed there were twins in her womb.
Luke 1:39-45 Now Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, to a city of Judah, 40 and entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth. 41 And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43 But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. 45 Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.”
Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
Unborn babies are people. God sees them. God loves them, and so should we. Let us help the world see this by proclaiming that life is precious, and that the most innocent - the most vulnerable need our voices heard.
We encourage healthy discussion from the Bible.
